I am one of those people that lose weight when I'm pregnant. Dont ask me how this happens, but it does. It doesnt have much to do with morning sickness , because I become a (very) healthy eater right from conception. It just seems that my metabolism kicks right in.
I also have hypothyroidism, which means that my thyroid does not work so well and I take a thyroid supplement called thyroxine. A lot of people think that they're taking a replacement, but they're actually taking a hormone supplement (T4)that stimulates the production of T3. While this all seems complicated, my view is to leave the science to the scientists and work with what we know.
I'm currently in the process of IUI as part of a fertility treatment.I have also struggled with my weight over the last ten years. I now have every good reason to work on my weight, simply because we want to have a baby.
I will ensure that my thyroid meds are working for me
